Cobleland campsite Cobleland campsite Cobleland countryside

Overview

Enjoying a riverside setting amidst the great oaks of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Cobleland offers as much tranquility, or activity, as you could wish for.

Proud recipient of a Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award in 2008, it goes without saying that Cobleland is a sympathetic part of the landscape in the dramatic countryside of Stirlingshire. It is a place where you can enjoy quiet strolls as well as serious orienteering, and where a morning on the perfect riverbank can be followed by a number of Ranger Activities, including an afternoon of geological discovery on the Highland Boundary Fault Trail that leads out from the park’s own visitor centre.

A UK Escapes break is all about returning to nature, so you won't find electricity or a fridge in our UK tents. To make your stay comfortable though, a cool box (ice packs available on-site) and lanterns with rechargable batteries are provided.

Close to the peace and quiet of Cobleland, you’ll find Go Ape at Aberfoyle, where ages 10 and upwards can swing, climb and zip wire through the trees at heights of up to 150 feet. For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground, you will also find the ruined Augustine Priory of Inchmahome well worth the short boat trip to the centre of Lake Menteith.
