The small parc of Ljubljana Resort offers an ideal base to explore the best of Slovenia, including the picturesque capital just 10 minutes drive away, with its café culture and relaxed atmosphere. Further afield, there’s enchanting Lake Bled, while Croatia, Italy and Austria are also all within 1½ hr drive away, opening up your holiday exploration even further. On parc relax at the excellent Laguna pool complex with its impressive mix of pools, jacuzzi, solarium, sauna and whirlpool. Just 15 minutes away, you’ll find Atlantis, one of the largest indoor waterparks in Europe - just the place to head during inclement weather. For the more active, try a spot of volleyball or table tennis, or hire a bike and head off parc to discover the delights of the local area. Due to its location trains and road traffic may be heard. Car hire is recommended.

Attractions

Postojna Caves

Slovenia boasts the most dramatic caves in Europe, including the granddaddy of them all, Postojna Caves. An underground railway, leading you to an astonishing world of stalagmites and stalactites, rushing water and the mysterious human fish, accesses the 20 km of subterranean passages

A visit to the cave lasts an hour and a half. Visits are scheduled at regular intervals throughout the day. No special equipment is necessary. Capes are available for hire.

Triglav National Park

Triglav National Park, named after the highest peak in Slovenia, their only national park and their pride and joy. It showcases unique examples of Slovenian natural and cultural heritage. The park covers almost the entire Julian Alps in Slovenia and totals 83,807 hectares.

Ljubljana zoo

Zoo with particular emphasis on species from Alpine, Pannonian and Mediterranean geographical areas. Area covers 19.6 hectares with 152 species to view.

Ljubljana castle

Ljubljana Castle (Ljubljanski grad) is the most spectacular sight of Ljubljana. There is proven evidence that the hill, on top of which it is situated, was inhabited back in the 12th century BC. Preserved from this early period of settlement are the remains of the Urn Tomb culture.

Lipica Stud Farm

The Lipica Stud Farm is the cradle of all Lipizzaner horses in the world and has been in existence since 1580. The 400-year-old tradition breeds full blooded Lipizzaner horses for dressage, carriage rides and recreational riding. The regular programme of dressage includes performances of trained Lipizzaner stallions demonstrating traditional equestrian skills of the Spanish Riding School
