    Attractions

    Parco di Pinocchio

The park of Pinocchio could not have been set anywhere other than in Collodi. The author adopted this village for his surname after spending most of his childhood here. Established over a span of 30 years, the park is far from being a traditional theme park, rather it is a creation of fantasy endowed with unique charm. Stroll along the paths and experience a living story amid unspoilt pearls of nature blended with beautiful art.

    Pistoia Zoo

A few kilometres away from the centre of Pistoia, immersed in the hillside is this 75,000 square metre zoo. One of the most interesting zoological gardens in Italy both because of its position and the number of species gathered. Over 600 animals from around the globe including flamingos, llamas, camels, tigers, elephants, hippos and bears. There is also an area where children can touch the animals such as goats and rabbits.

    Customer Suggestions

Take a look at some of the local recommendations for days out and activities our customers have shared with us following their holiday at Norcenni Girasole Club.

"We enjoyed the Greve Wine Festival as well as Florence."
    A. Keogh, Co. Meath

    "Greve in Chianti was excellent."
    R. Godfrey, London

"Would recommend visits to Florence, Siena and Pisa. Worth booking the Florence museum tickets online before you go to save money and time."
    C. Culleton, USA

"We visited Siena, Florence, Pisa and Lucca. Our trips to Pisa and Lucca were organised excursions and were very well planned. Would highly recommend Florence and a bus tour around the city if possible. We also drove to Greve, but be aware that the roads are very narrow with hairpin bends. Regardless, would still recommend exploring the area."
    B. O'Donoghue, Galway

"Pisa is a must. Florence is fantastic but you really need to allow 2 days to see everything properly. Siena is sometimes overlooked but is a real gem and a place we'd love to re-visit. We would have liked to have spent more time visiting the little hilltop villages in Chianti country - beautiful!"
    G. Cornelius, Powys

"We visited the market in San Giovanni and loved it."
    M. Todd, Co. Offaly

"Use the local train station, it's very cheap to Pisa and Florence for days out."
    M. O'Connell, Buckinghamshire

"Siena, Volterra, Cortona and Castellina in Chianti are all lovely. We also loved Elba and the beaches east of Piombino."
    P. Barrow, Tyne and Wear

"Florence is well worth a visit, but reserve tickets for attractions in advance online. Note that museums etc are closed on Mondays though."
    A. Jensen, Denmark

"The best places we visited were Florence and Pisa. For wine visits, we went to Greve in Chianti, Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino - the latter 3 are beautiful hilltop villages and worth the drive. Panzano is worth a visit to see the 'famous butcher' Dario Cecchini who opened a restaurant above his shop selling the 'best burgers in the world' (and has been visited by Jamie Oliver and even Jack Nicholson). We bought 2 of the famous burgers and cooked them on our barbecue on site - delicious! For more fantastic food, would recommend Fattoria La Vialla, 45 minutes NW of Arezzo, and La Perlamora, 5 minutes from the parc. Both offer 4-6 course lunches, serving authentic local food and wines (booking advisable)."
    C. Ferrari, Buckinghamshire

"Florence, Siena and San Gimignano were great. The tour to the Cinque Terre was wonderful. If you visit Siena try to go to the botanical gardens - it's small but very pretty and lovely for a relaxing, shady picnic lunch."
    S. James, Essex

"The tour of Figline Valdarno given by school children learning English is very good."
    J. Harris, Clwyd

"We enjoyed Pisa, Florence, Pistoia Zoo, Siena, San Gimignano and had a nice drive through Chianti country."
    N. Simmons, Essex

"Take a drive through the Chianti hills visiting Greve and Castellina - beautiful little places and much less crowded than Florence and Siena. Florence is easily accessed by train and the people at the ticket office at the station were very helpful."
    S. Holt, Lancashire

"Siena, Pisa, Florence and the surrounding areas are all worth visiting. Recommendations and travel details from the parc were excellent."
    S. O'Brien, Cambridgeshire
