Customer Suggestions

Take a look at some of the local recommendations for days out and activities our customers have shared with us following their holiday at Duinrell.

"Delft was very pleasant, ideal for a morning or afternoon visit. For eating, Legend chinese restaurant in Wassenaar was excellent."
S. Kent, West Midlands

"Rotterdam Zoo was brilliant and Scheveningen beach at Den Haag is beautiful! Leiden is also a lovely town and a boat trip while you're there is a must."
L. Moir, Tyne and Wear

"Delft was beautiful, and we enjoyed Leiden despite visiting in bad weather. The beach at Noordwijk is very good, and Gouda is definitely worth a visit, especially on market day."
K. Thomas, Clwyd

"Amsterdam, particularly Anne Frank's house is well worth a visit. Our children aged 6-11 really enjoyed Madurodam too. Kinderdijk isn't the easiest drive but worth it when you're there."
A. Cowdall, Shropshire

"We liked Wassenaar itself, as well as Amsterdam, the model village (Madurodam) and Den Haag beach."
M. Atkinson, Tyne and Wear

"We've been here several times, this time we went to see the fireworks at Scheveningen - this place is lovely and we always make time to visit. We also went to the space expo near Leiden. If you travel in April or May, definitely go to Keukenhof. The flowers blooming in the spring time are beautiful and there's plenty to keep the kids entertained too."
S. Clark, Staffordshire

"We had a great day trip to Amsterdam and would recommend the parc and ride facility - it's a cheap and easy way to get into the city. We also visited the beaches at Noordvijk and Katvijk which were lovely. The cycle hire and go-kart hire on the site were very popular with our children and the bikes were a great way to get to the local beach at Wassenaar which was also lovely."
M. Mustard, County Durham

"The day trip to Amsterdam which included a clog and cheese making factory, diamond centre and river cruise was the highlight off-parc, all for €35. Leiden was a lovely place to visit, which we did by bus. The town of Wassenaar was nice and had some good restaurants and decent supermarket called C1000. Would have liked to have explored more of the local area by bicycle."
M. Coles, Staffordshire

"We would definitely recommend a visit to Delft. We went on a Saturday, it's beautiful with a gorgeous canal and pretty walkways. We found a terrific market and there were lots of coffee shops. Leiden is another great place to visit and is good for shopping. Luciano's ice cream parlour in Wassenaar was a hit with the kids, had a great choice of flavours and a nice outdoor seating area where you can sit and people-watch. The C1000 supermarket in Wassenaar just a short walk away had a good choice of products and good value, as, too, was the pizza parlour in Wassenaar."
J. Rogers, East Sussex

"Madurodam is excellent and is a good stopping point after an overnight ferry journey. Wassenaar market on a Tuesday morning, just a 5 minute walk from the site, is very good value for fruit and veg, cheese, fish etc. Leiden is a nice town, was pleasant even on a grey day. Zaanse Schanse was peaceful despite being busy! Delft was great and had a fantastic pottery/craft market on a Saturday. Rotterdam Zoo is excellent, one of the best we've visited. Amsterdam had some good canal cruises and Noordwijk has an excellent beach and town centre. Volendam and Marken are lovely traditional towns with people dressed in traditional costumes. For car lovers, about 15 minutes' drive from the parc is the Lowman museum, definitely worth a visit for 2 or 3 hours. Finally, note in this region that there are some free parking areas ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours and you can buy a disc from local newsagents to put on your dashboard showing your arrival time."
W. Paterson, Aberdeenshire

"The entire area is clean, people are friendly and all of the towns and villages are interesting. We think Gouda, Leiden and Delft are the most attractive and are all within easy reach from the parc."
C. Scott, Fyfe

"There's so much to do on site we didn't venture far, although we did go to Sea Life in Scheveningen which we enjoyed. There's lots of information and discount vouchers for various attractions are readily available."
P. Thompson, Co. Down

"Naturalis in Leiden is cheap to visit and plenty to see and do, plus you can take picnics inside if the weather's poor. The Leger museum in Delft is all about the Dutch army and military history - my boys loved it and it was the highlight of our holiday. It's also free on the first Friday of the month and you can get cheap parking with a ticket from the museum."
I. Gray, Dunbartonshire

"Hiring bikes and cycling through the dunes to the local beach, riding through woodland and stopping for ice cream was so much fun. Strolling through Wassenaar itself is lovely too, and the Tiki water park, although busy was great fun for everyone."
H. White, Lincolnshire

"The beach at Wassenaar is beautiful. We did our shopping at the local Albert Hynes supermarket - an amazing place! Really clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I particularly liked drinking a coffee whilst shopping!"
A. Nealey, Oxfordshire

"Leiden is picturesque and great for shopping, as is Den Haag. And the chocolate shop in Wassenaar is amazing!"
L. Ayres, Surrey

"The beach was clean, easy to get to and child friendly. The trips to Amsterdam, Keukenhof, Delft and Den Haag were also really easy and fun. Katwijk beach is a good place to go with the kids; small, clean and well-catered for with a bouncy castle and a nice little town. Keukenhof gardens are an absolute delight - there are things for the children to do as well as the adults."
K. Pannell, Worcestershire

"We loved all the places we visited: Wassenaar, Delft, Leiden and Scheveningen. Amsterdam was good but more for the adults than small children."
P. Hughes, Warwickshire

"The village, ice cream parlour and shops were great and we really enjoyed Rotterdam Zoo."
V. Harris, South Humberside

"The park and ride to Amsterdam was very good, and while there we loved the Van Gogh museum and Anne Frank's house. Would recommend you book your tickets online to avoid queues."
C. Harris, East Sussex
