A lakeside parc in the village of Berny Rivière by the Compiègne Forest.

Ideal as a main holiday destination or for a stopover/short break to Disneyland® Resort Paris. Set beside a meandering river and within walking distance of Vicsur- Aisne, the attractively landscaped parkland has tall poplar trees and weeping willows. The old stone farm buildings which house the restaurant and bar have been tastefully converted and the terrace overlooks the swimming pool, which features indoor waterslides and a covered pool. In addition you can hire pedalos and canoes on the small parc lake. Plus there is a lake for swimming and another for fishing. If you’re in need of some real pampering, don’t forget to book yourself into the fantastic spa and beauty therapy centre. The parc also has a ‘pub’ complex with underground disco for teenagers. The parc also boasts a new outdoor pool complex.

Families wanting to travel to Berny Rivière with small children please note that some of our tents, mobile homes and tree house pitches are located close to open water. Please call for more details.

Numerous restaurants and cafeterias for all tastes.

    Customer Suggestions

Take a look at some of the local recommendations for days out and activities our customers have shared with us following their holiday at La Croix du Vieux Pont.

"I would recommend the château at Pierrefonds - the place is amazing and in my opinion has much more character than any castle in the UK."
    S. Preston, Clwyd

"The château at Pierrefonds was excellent, it's open on a Sunday and under 18s are free of charge. Paris is amazing and Disneyland was great for the children but be prepared for long queues for the rides."
    A. Willcocks, Cornwall

"For me two places spring to mind: Pierrefonds was amazing, the château where Merlin was filmed was stunning, as was the little village below. Also the local village Vic-sur-Aisne was beautiful, especially good on market day. The coach excursion to Disneyland Paris was very good too."
    A. Barnes, Surrey

"We really enjoyed the château at Pierrefonds and the treetop adventure park."
    J. Neal, Kent

"Our day trip to Paris by train was excellent. Recommend you ask at the train station about the best ticket deals, they're very helpful. If you want to go up the Eiffel Tower, get there early! We also enjoyed a boat trip on the Seine. Disneyland Paris by train was also very easy - again would recommend getting there early before the queues start to get too long, same goes for Versailles. There are some lovely gardens and little cafés to explore in the grounds. We also enjoyed the WWI trail."
    P. Tye, Buckinghamshire

"We visited the Mercier Champagne House in Epernay - it was excellent."
    D. Cleary, Co. Limerick

"The château at Pierrefonds is magnificent from a distance and although there's not a huge amount to see inside it's still a very worthwhile trip and our kids loved running around inside. Park Astérix a great day out - we enjoyed it far more than Disney, found it better value, shorter queues and better food. The dolphin show was fantastic! The aquarium in Val d'Europe was a good trip and the designer shopping complex there is worth a look (for window shopping!). Would also recommend the Champagne Pannier cellars in Château-Thierry, with nice people, an interesting tour and wonderful champagne! Reims is a lovely city with a magnificent cathedral and numerous champagne houses, and finally for a great meal at good prices with a fantastic host you must go to Chez Micheline in Berny Rivière itself."
    E. Bunce, West Glamorgan

"La Mer du Sable was a great theme park with rides and shows. Enjoyed the Armistice clearing, was very educational, and the castle at Pierrefonds, where the tv show Merlin is filmed, was a big hit with the kids."
    L. McNerlin, Kent

"Pierrefonds is well worth a visit and Disneyland Paris is a firm family favourite. Le Chemin des Dames is worth a visit for those interested in WWI. Near to site we discovered some good off-road cycle routes, and the hill opposite the parc is worth exploring to discover the caves. Fort de Condé was worth the afternoon visit too."
    J. Baynes, Essex

"The town of Soissons is a short drive from the site, a nice place to eat out and affordable shopping. It's also a good idea to refuel at the hypermarket here to save money. Drove to Disney through villages to avoid toll roads and was an easy journey."
    P. Forryan, Derbyshire

"1, Pierrefonds - beautiful scenery and home to BBC's Merlin. 2, Parc Astérix - in our opinion better than Disney, fewer crowds and an amazing rollercoaster ride. 3, The Armistice Clearing in Compeigne - very moving - incredible to think that two major events took place in the middle of a non-descript forest!"
    P. Carbery, Middlesex
