Customer Rating

4.4/5

Based on a customer satisfaction survey

A charming woodland parc close to the Château de Chambord, arguably the most magnificent of all Loire châteaux.

Set in the spacious grounds of an old stone manor house, the peaceful wooded surroundings make Le Château des Marais an ideal parc for families with young children. The parc retains the atmosphere of an exclusive country estate and features a great waterpark with waterslides, a lazy river and a spacious sun terrace. The restaurant, take-away and shop have all been built of local oak to blend in with the surroundings. Some noise may be heard from the nearby road. The parc is a five minute walk from the village of Muides-sur-Loire. A small indoor spa, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi has been built on the parc, however, there is a small charge.

    Customer Suggestions

Take a look at some of the local recommendations for days out and activities our customers have shared with us following their holiday at Château des Marais.

"Château de Chambord was really good, as was the 8pm visit to see the wild boar and deer from the hides."
    B. Robinson, Kent

"We enjoyed visiting Blois, Amboise, Beaugency and Beauval Zoo Parc. Would definitely recommend the Zoo, Amboise, the House of Magic in Blois and the sound and light show at the château in Blois. Chambord too was lovely."
    J. McDevitt, Co. Antrim

"Blois was fantastic, especially the House of Magic and the Saturday market. Château de Chambord was great too, and we all loved canoeing at St Dye… Hard work but great fun!"
    J. Whitehead, Merseyside

"We went to Château de Chambord which was huge which the kids loved to run around. It was well worth stopping at the viewing stations in the country park around the château, we saw deer and wild boar. Blois was a lovely, typically French town with old houses and squares. We also enjoyed its château and the sword fighting display in the afternoon - every child there thought it was real!"
    C. Hawkins, Hertfordshire

"We enjoyed strolling around Blois, cycling to Château de Chambord and around the village local to the parc, picking wild flowers."
    R. Pool, Hertfordshire

"There were many small medieval towns and villages that we enjoyed cycling through. Beaugency was really lovely with lots of restaurants, as is Blois - lots of pedestrianised areas, plants and gardens. I would also recommend you take a canoe and view from the river. Cycling along the River Loire was amazing."
    S. Holmes, East Sussex

"We visited local villages by bicycle - the cycle routes are very good and the cycle maps are excellent. Regular rides past Château de Chambord were never a chore - a wonderful sight - and the viewing stations where you can see the red deer, boar and wild sheep grazing in their natural surroundings are just brilliant (and free!). The show at the château was well worth the money and was the only time my 2 year old grandson sat still! He was enthralled by it all."
    M. Pearson, Oxfordshire

"Château de Chambord was stunning - too much to see in one day. Saumur is a beautiful town; friendly and a great place to buy your wine!"
    G. Martin, West Sussex
