Attractions

The resort: Saint Vincent’s church, a historical monument, has the severe appearance of a defensive building: high walls, vertical buttresses, murder holes for muskets. Florénia Park with 180,000 m² of tiered gardens, where one can discover thousands of annual and perennial flowers during the course of a three kilometre walk with panoramic viewpoints and marvellous views. Urtubie Castle, which is furnished and inhabited, has belonged to the same family since its construction in 1341. This castle was extended and transformed in the 16th century. Louis XI stayed here in 1463, and its lands were made into a viscounty by Louis XIV in 1654. The surrounding area: The Basque coast: Bayonne (27.50 km) and the Vauban ramparts, Gothic cathedral, cloisters and Bonnat museum; Bidart (15 km) and the Chapel of St Mary Magdelene; Guéthary (12.50 km) and the Saraleguinea art museum; Anglet (23 km) and Chiberta lake; Saint-Jean-de-Luz (5 km) and the Grévin museum, the town square and visits to the house of Louis XIV and the house of the Infanta; Sare and the prehistoric caves; Hendaye (10 km) and the Abbadia estate; Biarritz (23 km) and the Imperial Chapel, the Chocolate Museum, St Martin’s Church, the History Museum, the Maritime Museum and its aquariums.
