Nestled in the Basque country, this parc is ideally located for the surfing beaches of the south west.

Situated beside a small lake, this Castels parc is four miles from the elegant town of Biarritz. The soaring Pyrénées form a magnificent backdrop to the parc, which has terraced hillside pitches set amongst oak trees. There is a waterpark with a four lane waterslide, as well as a covered pool across the road in a newer part of the parc. However, if relaxation is more your style, don’t forget the Balneo, where you can enjoy a massage in the outdoor spa or relax in the jacuzzi complex which is free in low season and available for a small charge during July and August. Traffic and trains can be heard from the parc. Three miles away are beaches lapped by Atlantic shores, renowned for excellent surfing.

Only conventional swimwear, such as swimming trunks are allowed in the pool.

      Customer suggestions

Take a look at some of the local recommendations for days out and activities our customers have shared with us following their holiday at Le Ruisseau.

"We loved white water rafting with Evasion and loved the pontoons and the confetti festival at St Jean de Luz. There was a great tree-top activity park at St Pée de Nivelle and the beach near to the Pavillion Hotel is great for body boarding and rock pooling - we saw an octopus in them. San Sebastian is beautiful and we enjoyed walking up to the monument. A walk along the coast to Guéthary is a good evening activity, especially when the night market is on."
      N. Bedford, Dorset

"Hossegor is very classy! There's a choice of seaside beach or a lake beach for smaller children. Bidart was very friendly with nice restaurants and excellent beaches and a nice evening market on a Thursday. The Musée de la Mer in Biarritz is good if it rains and there is lots of good cycling on safe roads in the area."
      D. Gara, Lancashire

"San Sebastian in Spain was a highlight with its old town and tapas bars. Avoid the afternoon siesta though if you want to shop and fill up with petrol while you're there as it's much cheaper! St Jean de Luz was excellent with its superb free park and ride."
      M. Leabon, Northamptonshire

"The little train up La Rhune in the Pyrénées was a long wait with big queues but well worth it, the views are stunning. St Jean de Luz was beautiful. There are some lovely beaches in the area, especially the one at Bidart with the surf school and cliff. Biarritz is also very nice."
      A. Brightman, Northamptonshire

"Biarritz was superb. The daily indoor market is great and you can get a nice, cheap coffee there. The beach at Il Biarritz near the new surfing centre is superb, free parking nearby and a café and 2 restaurants as well. St Jean de Luz is also fab with a great daily indoor market, especially for fresh fish at weekends and there's a good café in the docks with a great 3 course meal for €11. You can buy fresh fish from the tents near the café - we bought a live crab and boiled it back at the parc, it was the best we have ever had. San Sebastian is a must with great Tapas bars. Espelette is also worth a tour inland for the chilli, it's a nice village and best to go on market day. In general the area is unspoilt and the coastline is lovely."
      M. Lomas, Lancashire
