For a perfect view, hike into the mountains which rise behind your resort, in dramatic shades of red sandstone, set against the deep blue Mediterranean skies. Look out to sea, and count the white sails in the bay of Cannes. From Mandelieu's teeming harbour, strike out and discover an isolated cove, or traditional seaside villages like Théoule, where development is kept strictly under control – or Cannes, which is quite the opposite! Apartments and studios are delightfully designed with terracotta-tiled roofs and shady terraces. Idyllically situated on a loop of the Siagne River just 800 metres from the coast, your residence is a real find.

Attractions

The resort: Lying on the Côte d'Azur near Cannes, between the Massif de l'Estérel and the wooded areas of the Tanneron, Mandelieu is a resort right on the waterfront,where the Mediterannean air mingles with the scent of pine and mimosa trees. Places to visit: the castle/museum (14th century castle, tour of the gardens, rooms, cloister and sculptor's studio), typical local spots such as Capitou (small Provençal village with a square and church), the mimosa sellers' district and La Napoule. The botanical trail of the San Peyré hill. The surrounding area: Cannes (8 km): the famous La Croisette, Saracen Tower, Gothic church of Notre Dame de l'Espérance, Canto harbour, La Castre museum, La Malmaison (exhibitions), Bellini chapel, the old quarters of Suquet, and so on. In the surrounding area: Le Cannet and its exotic gardens, La Croix des Gardes and its splendid villas, etc. Antibes (20 km): the beautiful old town and ramparts, churches, narrow, shady streets and museums (Picasso Museum).
