Overview

At the Algarve’s peaceful western edge the living is easy.

Handsome towns and fishing villages punctuate a coastline indented with cliffs and coves, each more inviting than the next. Valverde enjoys a prime spot along this less trodden route and provides a relaxing base from which to explore the beautiful sun drenched coastline. Within this attractive, well-run parc, just a short distance from the beach, you’ll find a good sized swimming pool, sports facilities, a restaurant and bar. Accommodation is spaced between shady pine trees and delightful gardens.

Around and About

Praia de Luz, just 2.5km away, is a tidy resort with a great beach and a real ‘Portuguese’ feel but, for more culture, head a few miles further east to the wonderful town of Lagos. Here, amid cobbled squares, winding streets and open-air markets, you’ll find much of interest, including a lively nightlife pulsating to African rhythms – Lagos was once the centre of the trading links between Portugal and Africa. The ‘Land’s End’ of Portugal, Capo St Vicente is a lonely headland with magnificent sunsets.
