Overview

Set in unspoilt countryside, a lakeside campsite with first class facilities in the spacious parklands of a private château.

As you approach the magnificent château through an avenue of poplar trees, you’ll be impressed by the beautiful, peaceful countryside setting of La Garangeoire. The family run campsite, a member of the prestigious Castels chain, is only one mile from St Julien-des-Landes and fifteen minutes drive from the beach. The lovely lake behind the château, surrounded by woodland and green meadows, provides an idyllic setting for hiring a pedalo. The château’s estate buildings have been tastefully converted and now house a new bar and restaurant.

Around and About

For peace and quiet, try the secluded rocky coves along the coast at Sion-sur-l’Océan. The lively resorts of Les Sables d’Olonne, fifteen miles to the south, and St Jean-des-Monts, to the north, are a contrast to the pretty fishing port of St Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. You can visit the lake at Apremont where you can visit the castle ruins, laze on the grassy banks with a picnic and try your hand at windsurfing.
