Andalucía offers you an unusual choice
of coastline experiences. Camping
Capobino sits in the heart of the Costa
del Sol, with its sophisticated nightlife and elegant marinas, while you are also close to the stunning Costa de la Luz, with its fine golden sand and huge Atlantic rollers.
The lovely Marina of Capobino is just
minutes away, with its wide range of
restaurants, beach bars, dolphin trips
and boat excursions. Marbella and
Puerto Banus, with their array of
restaurants, bars, boutiques and
magnificent yachts, is also close to
hand; as are the white town of Mijas
and the major centres of Fuengirola and
Malaga. Day excursions to the attractions of Granada, Ronda,
Gibraltar, Sevilla, and Nerja are also
available.
On the Costa de la Luz you will find that typical beaches are a little more
expansive and often backed by sand dunes and pine trees. This part of coast is still remarkably unspoilt too, with milder temperatures but strong Atlantic winds, and waves that are ideal for wind surfers and conventional surfers alike.
Places to Visit
Granada
The ancient moor city of Granada stands at the foot of Spain's highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada. A city of spectacular sights, the jewel in its crown is Alhambra, the series of palaces and gardens built under the Nazari Dynasty in the 14th century.
Malaga
The major coastal city of the region, Malaga offers an historic city centre, with a majestic, unfinished Gothic Cathedral at its heart, surrounded by sun-baked ochre
buildings, narrow pedestrian streets
and atmospheric bars.
Gibraltar
So much more than just a rock, Gibraltar is steeped in a history that has evolved from its strategic location at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula, where Europe meets Africa. First time visitors are always taken by surprise by the breathtaking views and famous
Barbary apes. Also great for duty free
shopping.
Family Attractions
Alcazaba, Malaga
Built
between 1057 and 1063, this is
quite possibly the most important military fortification remaining from the Hispanic-Arabic period.
Nerja
With great beaches,
relaxed tapas bars and wonderful pastry shops, Nerja simply oozes charm. Worth a trip just to enjoy its evening paseo, the Spanish ritual of strolling and people-watching.
Isla Magica Amusement Park
Located on the original Expo site in Seville, Isla Magica is an exciting and modern amusement park centered around a lake and divided into seven themed areas, all of which represent different episodes in Spanish 16th century history.
