The Tour de France is the world's best-known cycling race. The race lasts three weeks, taking in around 3,600 kilometres throughout France, and sometimes bordering countries. The race is broken into day-long segments called stages. The time taken by cyclists to complete each individual stage is totalled in order to determine the overall winner at the end of the Tour. Around 20-22 teams of 9 riders each take part every year.

The first Tour de France was held in 1903, and has been held every year since, with the exception of during WWI and WWII. The course changes every year but the final stage always finishes in Paris, with the climax taking place along the world-famous Champs-Élysées.

Running from Saturday 2nd July to Sunday 24th July 2011, the 98th Tour de France will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,471 kilometres, beginning in the Vendee. Many of the stages will be passing a number of Keycamp parcs - a perfect partner to follow your team across France. Check out the map to see how Keycamp can help you follow the Tour de France 2011.
