AITO Responsible Tourism Award

In doing so, we have also been awarded the Five Star Award for Responsible Tourism by the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO). This acknowledges the improvements we have made to ensure our holidays and business practices are more environmentally friendly and is their highest level of recognition.

FSC certification

We're proud to be one of the only travel companies to achieve FSC certification for using paper from approved, sustainable sources too. Everything we send to you is printed on FSC and part or fully recycled paper. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests.

Cool Earth and you

And we're also pleased to be working with Cool Earth, a charity that protects rainforest to help combat climate change. In addition to reducing our business travel wherever possible, any travel we do make is offset by donations to Cool Earth.

We chose to work with them because we wanted to do something which was effective and worthwhile that everyone could easily understand.

You too can also offset your holiday travel through Cool Earth. When you book your self catering holiday with us, you have the option of donating £5 per booking with flights, £2 per booking with ferries and £1 per booking with rail.

Many of you have already donated - in fact, since January 2009, you've raised over £56,000 for Cool Earth. This money has protected 938 acres of forest - now that really is cool!

Car-free holidays

To help lower your carbon footprint further, we've put together a selection of parcs which are located close to the local train station, port or airport, meaning they can be accessed by public transport or a short hop in a taxi.

Greener Parc Choices

Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze status has been presented dependent on the number and type of environmentally friendly initiatives they have implemented on parc.
